About Lisa Kerr

Lisa Kerr was born in a small town named Taft, CA. She attended Taft Union High School, where she played soccer and acted in the school's theatre program. She later attended California State University Bakersfield, where she was a member of the Honor's Program, wrote for the college newspaper, starred in her friend's one-act play, and went on to write an award-winning play called Daddy's Little Angels that was produced at Bakersfield Community Theatre.  

Lisa also studied at California State University Northridge where she published her short story Some Reasons Women Don't Orgasm in the Northridge Review. Lisa now studies at UCLA Writer's Extension and has taken courses through Gotham Writer's Workshop. 

Current Projects

Lisa is currently at work on her first book, a memoir about spending her twenties in a Christian fundamentalist cult, and a fiction detective novel that features a very smart leading lady. Lisa also writes for her blog My Cult Life and can be found on her social network for memoir writers, The Memoir Writers Society.
